Spec Ops: The Line is one of the newer and original titles from 2K Games that features quite the provocative and ruthlessly gripping third-person, modern-day military shooter gameplay, which is perfectly designed and intended to heavily challenge the players' morality compass. You are going to get placed in the midst of unspeakable and difficult situations, where you would need to make some unimaginable choices that are going to affect multiple human fates and lives, especially the ones of your trusted squad of men.

The title features also include a storyline quite reminiscent of the Apocalypse Now scenario as well as inspiration and nods to Heart of Darkness but is actually set in a ruined Dubai environment, where the tactical squad-based Delta Force gameplay would uncover throughout the horizontally and vertically oriented world in the game.

Now, a mysterious and unexplainable radio signal comes as s surprise out-of-nowhere and is getting picked-up from the once thriving city of Dubai. Now, the US Army is determined to find out more details about it and find out who sent it!

The Delta Recon Team led by Captain Martin Walker gets sent to infiltrate the city and investigate this unexpected occurrence. Their mission objective is very simple: Locate any potential survivors or hostages and call for an evacuation back to safety.

What you and your squad get to find is a ruined city in the full grip of an ongoing war. To try and save Dubai, the team would have to locate the person at the heart of its utter madness — Colonel John Konrad. Get through the once thriving city and among the abandoned luxury buildings, destroyed infrastructure and avoid getting killed-off by the enemy. Use any cover you find to protect yourself from the explosions, barrages and rescue the people you came for.

Spec Ops: The Line is an action-packed Third-Person Shooter that delivers a heart pounding experience that is as physically close to real combat through a set of squad-based play mechanics. As the player you are going to lead a team of three different characters, each with their specialty and expertise, Captain Martin Walker, Lieutenant Adams and Sergeant Lugo.

Each of the characters in your team has their very own personality and useful skills, and their distinct roles in this thrilling story to explore the dark sides of war in a very, very realistic way. It is difficult to say if there are any possible good outcomes though, since you are going to face mostly hard choices that you would need to decide on.

As the objectives are completed further and further you discover more advanced weapons and tactical equipment that become available. In addition to all of this, the desert environment and terrain of Dubai get brought into the gameplay in a more than unique way with stunning visual graphics, and the dynamic sandstorms actively affect the level designs, and these events can actually be used to help or drastically hinder your progress and lead your mission to a swift end if you are not careful enough. The vertical interiors of Dubai’s high rise buildings and skyscrapers also provide you with some advantages that could be used by players but beware as there are also dangerous risks to be very careful with.

The multiplayer campaigns bring forth even more new modes to explore and the unusual situations greatly expand on the single player experience. Getting through the desolated lands of Dubai is going to prove as a mighty challenge for your skills in this military adventure as you would need to complete your mission successfully and keep your squad alive and in one piece.
