Another new concept is the second generation of characters known as the Kombat kids – new characters that are the children of fan-favorites such as Kung Jin (young cousin of Kung Lao), Cassie Cage (daughter of Sonya and Johnny), Jacqui Briggs (daughter of Jax) and Takeda (son of Kenshi) that form a special squad of eager and determined fighters that seek to prove themselves worthy of honor by their elders. The story revolves around the complex storylines of all characters and their stance on feuds or allegiances that seek to once and for all decide the fate of the realms.
